I'm doing this a lot. Since picking up a camera a year back, I've started noticing things. Deciding what makes an interesting photograph. As well as teaching me something about composition (I'm getting there..) It has also reminded me how blind I have been to noticing such details before. Without a camera stuck to my eye. Take these sunflowers, black and crisp on my neighbour's plot. I don't remember them when they were in bloom and at their very best. I'm quite disappointed to see them now and realise that. Now I'm posting this on Instagram. A social medium dedicated to showing off what we see through a lens. I think what I'm trying to say (to myself more than anyone else) is that I need to see the detail without the lens or phone screen more. And maybe, even if I see the most beautiful shot in the world, maybe just keep it to myself more often. I actually spent a lot of time on the plot yesterday afternoon and took zero photos of my efforts. I'm actually quite pleased with myself 😆
